They’d run and play and chase geckos beneath the palm trees of sunny Florida.
Then one day, the news arrived that the whole family would be moving to the Lone Star state of Texas. And Mr Tigger was secretly very excited and happy about it. He saw himself chasing tumbleweeds, clawing at cactus and basking in the hot dry sun of a Texas summer. He knew he’d have to work hard though on purrfecting a good Texas drawling-meooow. That might take time!
And so the family moved.
Soon after, while the humans were still getting settled, unpacking and rearranging for their new lives … Mr Tigger took it upon himself to start exploring his new neighborhood. He donned his ten-gallon hat (well, maybe not quite ten-gallons, that’s a bit too big even for a big, ole handsome mancat!) … grabbed his roadmap, and off he went.
Now, even though Mr Tigger had been known to run and play out of doors, all this was “very new”. And he got a bit lost. Maybe he had an old map. He really wasn’t sure. But he just couldn’t find his way back home. He knew that his Hu-Mom and his furry sibs would be searching for him. And search they did, up and down and high and low. Everyone was worried and sad. Mr Tigger was not to be found.
Time passed, and everyone knew that too much time had passed. They knew in their hearts that Mr Tigger would not be coming home, he was missing in action. It was a very unhappy time for all. What they didn’t know was that Mr Tigger had been worried and sad also. He missed his wonderful family.
But when he realized that he could not and would not be able to get back to them, he went off to the Cat-Lands. Now this isn’t at all like crossing the Rainbow Bridge. It’s just a wonderful and happy place where all the kitties who’ve gone “missing” seem to find their way to. In the Cat-Lands they keep each other company, they share fun and food and shelter, and they share memories of the families they left behind. The Cat-Lands is a good place. And we know that Mr Tigger, and many others are content there.
Mr. Tigger you are always in our hearts!!
We miss you and know you are happy wherever you are!!

We still miss you Mr. Tigger. We remember when we moved here to the Lake and didn't have internets, so Momma went to the library to check out the CB and found out you were MIA. We were so, so sad, but we know that you are happy in Cat-Lands ...

What a sweet story and tribute to Mr. Tigger. Cat-Lands is so much better, I think, than the bridge. The bridge makes it all to fiinal and in Cat-lands the hope is there that he just might find a new map and find you. I am thinking that he had that ole map and someone found him and now is is living in the lap of luxury demanding that another set of humans is taking care of his every need. I too think of Mr. Tigger and when we do catch up some day over the bridge I am going to find out what he has been up to for sure.
Love you bunches Mr. Tigger!
Oh Mr. Tigger, we hope you're well! I wrote about my lost cat on my blog. It's so sad to me still.

This story is so touching and bittersweet. I love seeing Mr. Tigger's pictures. Ironically, the kitty whose Gotcha Story I told in my post looks so similar to Mr. Tigger! I named him Robbie. Thank you for visiting & your kind words.
It is so sad that Mr. Tigger didn't make it back. Peace to Mr. Tigger in Cat-Lands and purrs to your family today in remembrance.
Oh poor thing! We're so sorry. We hope he found another family.
This is what happened to Boris who lived with us for 1 year and 3 months until his own family turned up. The story is here: blog.lepak.com/2011/04/boris-family-turned-up.html
